UNI/CT 019 Commission, Daniele Pavan is the new President

 In News

Daniele Pavan was appointed President of the UNI/CT 019 Commission. UNI is the Italian Association for Standardisation, which since 1921 has been drawing up, publishing and disseminating technical standards in various production fields, representing Italy at world (ISO) and European (CEN) level.

On 18 April 2024, Daniele Pavan took on the role of President of the UNI/CT 019 Commission (succeeding Paolo Tattoli), with consequent inclusion in the Central Technical Commission (CCT), thanks to his proven technical and engineering experience in the sector, amply demonstrated in the numerous projects carried out by TK Elevator Italia, a company of which Pavan is Technical Director.

This appointment at UNI is in addition to Daniele Pavan’s activities within the Federazione ANIE in the Technical Commission, Codes and Standards and in the various working groups of ANIE AssoAscensori, also participating in the drafting of the current Manual Propaedeutic to Maintenance qualification.

“I am very honoured by this prestigious appointment, which I would never have thought of taking on only a year ago,” commented Elevatori Magazine’s Daniele Pavan. – My thanks go to Assoascensori who proposed me, to TKE Italia who allowed me to stand as a candidate despite various corporate commitments, to those who preceded me in the same position, and to my colleagues on the Commission who believed in me: it will be my duty to repay everyone of their trust and make the sceptics believe again. This is a historic moment for our sector, which for so many years has remained the same, but which now, with the transition from EN 81-20 standards to ISO 8100, is setting itself the ambitious goal of creating a unified and globally valid body of standards, despite the fact that the public enquiry was not very favourable at CEN level and despite the numerous comments received: our national experts, with whom I recently shared my first CEN WG1 in Frankfurt, are very well prepared and are attentive to overseeing the activities of this historic regulatory evolution. Good work to the whole Commission!.”

“We are sure that the presence of a TK Elevator collaborator within these committees can positively enrich the sector,” commented Omar Riva, CEO of TK Elevator for Italy -, “guiding the Decision Makers to make the best choices for users, manufacturers, maintenance staff and in general for the entire Italian lift market. Congratulations to Daniele Pavan for this prestigious appointment and for the great challenges that await him”.
