Call for paper
The conference “OQX – Oltre il quadrato e la X (Beyond the Square and the X)” is now in its fifth edition, deepening the theme of accessibility to human space through “smart technologies”, understood as solutions and advanced applications that promote the autonomy of people with disabilities not only motor, but also psycho-motor, cognitive, sensory, related to health problems not obvious or multi-generational limitations.
The aim of the conference is to give voice to the most innovative studies, projects and products as regards the response to disabilities according to the principles of Universal Design, which aim to achieve a space equitably accessible by the population while respecting human diversity.
The themes of the conference are two:
T1. Theme Accessible Mobility and Services
This theme brings together ideas, projects and products that develop or improve the accessibility of the physical environment at the scale of urban services and buildings. Sometimes, small components and smart devices are able to solve big problems of accessibility, making usable space more extended, performing and safe.
T2. Theme Smart devices, machines and robotics for accessibility
Smart devices, artificial intelligence, and robotics have and will increasingly play a leading role in reducing, perhaps eliminating, obstacles related to the human-machine-environment interface. This theme brings together ideas, products, prototypes and innovative systems designed to be adaptive to all categories of users.
