UNI standards free of charge against Covid-19

 In Standards

We are pleased to inform our readers that UNI (the Italian Standards Authority) has made available, now free of charge from its website, the technical standards that previously could only be obtained for a fee, stating the safety and quality requirements, as well as test methods for products essential for the prevention of COVID-19 contagion. These products are filter masks, protective gloves and goggles, protective clothing and surgical drapes whose technical features are now accessible for free. In order to make it easier purchasing decisions for public administrations and for companies to reconvert production, UNI has decided to grant full and immediate access to approved and super partes references: these references, as the World Health Organisation also says, can only be those defined by the technical standardisation system, i.e. in Italy by UNI.

UNI initiative has led CEN and CENELEC to extend to all member national standardization bodies the standards for free, thus meeting the request received from the European Commissioner for the Internal Market and Services Thierry Breton. The  standards available on  www.uni.com
