WEG at GEE Milan 2025
WEG, a global manufacturer of drive systems, motors, automation technologies and industrial controls, will showcase its latest lift technology solutions at the Global Elevator Exhibition (GEE) 2025, taking place at Fiera Milano Rho from 19 to 21 November 2025.
At the event, WEG will present its ADL500 lift drive series, the EBC500 electronic brake control module and its complete controls range of electromechanical controls.
These innovations highlight WEG’s ongoing commitment to safety, energy efficiency, reliability, and ease of use, catering to all lift applications, from compact residential systems to high-rise commercial buildings.
“After a great success at the Nuremberg fair, which confirmed the strong interest of the industry in WEG’s innovative solutions,” said Karim Boudaoud, Lift Product Manager in WEG Automation Europe “we now want, about a month later, to reaffirm in GEE our presence and commitment to a market we consider fundamental – the Italian one.”

Engineering the future of vertical mobility
At the center of WEG’s exhibition is the ADL500 lift drive series, a modular, scalable platform engineered to set new standards for performance, safety, and user-friendliness in modern elevator technology. Designed for applications ranging from quiet, energy-efficient residential lifts to high-speed systems in multi-storey buildings, the ADL500 delivers precise control, smooth ride quality, and unmatched reliability.

Covering power ratings from 1.1 kW to 45 kW and supporting 1-phase 200 V, 3-phase 200 V, and 3-phase 400 V supply voltages, the ADL500 is compatible with all common lift communication protocols, making it ideal for both new installations and modernization projects.
Features such as precise floor positioning, smooth acceleration and deceleration, and integrated safety functions ensure consistent, reliable operation under all conditions.
A Drive for every building profile
The ADL500 series includes three models: ADL510, ADL530, and ADL550, each optimized for different building types and performance needs:
- ADL510 – Designed for low-rise applications and modernization with asynchronous motors.
- ADL530 – A versatile mid-range solution for all most common applications and requirements.
- ADL550 – High-performance drive for high-demanding systems including safety features, stand-by function and complete communication compatibility.

ADL500 family control both asynchronous and synchronous motors and feature a universal encoder interface supporting a wide range of feedback devices. Compatibility with all communication protocols – parallel I/O, CANopen, CANopen Lift (CiA 417), DCP3/4, and optional Wi-Fi connectivity – enable seamless integration with any lift controller and simplify wireless configuration and monitoring.
Safety and Reliability at Every Level
Safety is central to the ADL500 design. Standard features include Safe Torque Off (SIL3) and Uncontrolled Car Movement (UCM) protection, ensuring compliance with the highest international standards.
For applications requiring enhanced safety and simplified cabinet design, WEG introduces the EBC500 electronic brake control module. This brake contactorless, SIL3-certified solution provides continuous brake monitoring and meets EN 81-20/50 standards, while anticipating the upcoming ISO 8100 requirements, setting a new benchmark for elevator safety and reliability.
The ADL500 series also stands out for its intuitive commissioning and maintenance features. Step-by-step setup wizards guide technicians through configuration, parameter adjustment, and optimization, reducing start-up time and minimizing errors.
The drives can be operated via keypad, PC software, or the WEG Liftouch mobile app, all featuring the same simplified interface along with smart functions and tools designed to provide an excellent, enjoyable user experience — and, through the WEG Liftouch app, a modern and up-to-date interaction with the drive and lift system.
Complete Control and Component Solutions
Alongside its drives and brake modules, WEG will showcase its Control portfolio of electromechanical components, including contactors, relays, pushbuttons, and terminal blocks, designed specifically for lift applications. These components ensure consistent performance and reliability across all system architectures.
“With its combination of advanced technology, safety, and user-focused design, WEG continues to set new standards for the lift industry,” added Paolo Mariotti, Area Manager Lift in Italy. “Visitors to GEE Milan 2025 will see how our solutions are shaping the future of vertical mobility with intelligence, precision, and efficiency.”
