Vincenzo de Martino
is the new President of ANIE Confindustria
The ANIE Confindustria Assembly has appointed Vincenzo de Martino as its new President for the four-year period 2025–2029.
An entrepreneur with extensive experience in industry and associations, de Martino began his career in the lift sector at Paravia, an Italian leader in the lift industry, where he held the positions of Chief Executive Officer and Vice President. He is currently Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of IMQ Group S.r.l. and Chief Strategy Officer of IoTSafe S.r.l.
From 2022 to the present, he has been Vice-President of the ANIE Federation.

Vincenzo de Martino
The Presidency will operate with a team of five Vice-Presidents, selected for their experience and complementary skills:
- Andrea Bianchi with responsibility for Education, Industrial Policy, Made in Italy and Made in Europe, the EU and European Associations;
- Giulio Iucci (reappointed) with responsibility for Digitalisation, Cybersecurity, AI, Innovation, R&D and SMEs;
- Renato Martire (reappointed) with responsibility for External Relations and the Research Centre;
- Michele Viale with responsibility for Corporate Culture, Attracting Foreign Investment, Environmental Transition and ESG Objectives;
- Ludovica Zigon with responsibility for Internationalisation and Energy Policies.
Leadership based on representation, innovation and planning
Vincenzo de Martino will lead ANIE to consolidate its role in national and European decision-making processes. The programme is divided into three strategic areas:
1 – Strengthening representation
Consolidating dialogue with institutions and stakeholders, influencing industrial policies that will guide the growth of the production system.
2 – Promoting innovation
Enhancing the skills and technologies of companies as a competitive lever for ecological, digital and industrial transitions.
3 – Developing planning
Anticipating technological and regulatory developments, transforming them into concrete opportunities for companies.
ANIE plays a leading role in digital, energy and industrial transitions
The sectors represented by the Federation – electrical engineering, electronics and industrial plant engineering – are now essential pillars for energy transformation, digitalisation and infrastructure security.
Major transitions are accelerating profound changes in global markets. Electrical engineering and electronic technologies are at the heart of this evolution. At the same time, the European regulatory framework is introducing new requirements in terms of sustainability, cybersecurity, data management, supply chain responsibility and the circular economy.
In this scenario, the new Presidency will strengthen its role of representation and strategic support to businesses, helping them to interpret the new rules and transform innovation into a competitive advantage, while maintaining and consolidating the competitiveness of production in Italy and Europe. Industrial policies must promote technological development, sustainable transition and competitive conditions for those who invest in strategic supply chains.
ANIE’s action levers
- Maintain timely and proactive regulatory oversight, contributing to decision-making processes with technical proposals and industrial scenarios.
- Support technological investments, promoting access to incentives, financial instruments and public-private partnerships, working alongside institutions to develop new, accessible and sustainable instruments.
- Facilitating sustainable transition, accompanying companies in managing new environmental and responsibility requirements along the value chain.
- Collaborating with institutions and organisations to ensure that the issue of skills – a strategic infrastructure for the industrial future – is given the attention it deserves, with the aim of adopting effective measures to reduce the mismatch between supply and demand for qualified profiles.
- Stimulate innovation ecosystems by creating connections between companies, start-ups, universities and research centres.
- Ensure competitive fairness by supporting measures that reduce energy costs, simplify the regulatory framework and protect those who produce in Europe and therefore in Italy, with respect to distortive global dynamics.
First steps
Some of the first steps planned include: putting together the ANIE Manifesto for Industrial Growth, which is a working document for institutions, the government, and parliament; setting up the InGen – Generational Innovation group for young entrepreneurs in the Federation; and strengthening dialogue with tech start-ups to develop joint initiatives.
A central objective of the mandate concerns technological sovereignty, with the return to Europe – and where possible to Italy – of the production of strategic technologies for energy, digitalisation and infrastructure.
“ANIE Confindustria represents the technology that enables the future of the country,” says Vincenzo de Martino. “I will put my experience at the service of member companies to strengthen the Federation’s institutional presence and contribute to the growth of Italian and European industry. Enabling technologies are a strategic asset, and bringing production back to Europe means strengthening competitiveness, security and industrial independence.”
“I firmly believe in the value of teamwork,” continues de Martino, “which is why I have chosen five Vice-Presidents with different and complementary skills. A collegial leadership allows us to better oversee the most complex issues and give voice to the many souls of the Federation, including the perspective of the younger generations. It is a choice that strengthens representation, broadens vision and makes ANIE Confindustria more solid and inclusive in its future challenges.”
The Federation thanks outgoing President Filippo Girardi for his leadership and dedication during his term of office, which have helped to consolidate ANIE’s role in the country’s institutional and industrial landscape.
The ANIE Federation, a member of Confindustria, with 1,100 member companies and approximately 480,000 employees, represents one of the most strategic and advanced industrial sectors in the country, with an aggregate turnover of €112 billion and €27 billion in exports for electrical and electronic technologies in 2024. ANIE member companies invest an average of 4% of their turnover in research and development, accounting for more than 30% of the total R&D investment made by the private sector in Italy.
