Cosmo and slim: modularity at the service of modernisation
In the elevator industry, modernisation is no longer just a technical intervention: it has become a strategic lever to face future challenges. In increasingly dynamic cities – where efficiency, accessibility, and aesthetics are essential requirements – modernizing means rethinking the lift as a technological, functional, and human space.
Modernisation systems must meet a dual need: adapting to the technical and architectural specificities of existing installations, while enhancing the user experience with intuitive, safe, and inclusive solutions. This balance is where Vega’s innovation comes to life. Technology, sustainability, and design are becoming the pillars for developing new solutions. In this context, modularity represents a true paradigm shift: solutions like Slim and Cosmo embody this philosophy, offering flexible and sustainable systems that pave the way for a new generation of elevators capable of evolving over time.

The Slim product lines-our first specifically designed for modernisation thanks to surface mounting and integrated ultra slim electronics – introduced greater assembly speed and ease of installation. The electronics were engineered with a modular approach, featuring interfaces that allow functionalities to be composed by connecting different modules.
Slim displays are divided into four categories-CPU, expansions, accessories, and wiring-to accelerate custom design, internal redesign, and replacements. Even the wiring, standardized in an automotive style, reduces time, costs, and installation errors.
At Interlift 2025, we presented an even more advanced concept of modularity, appreciated also by end users. With Cosmo, the new modular fixuture, a system traditionally conceived as a single element can now be assembled in new ways, more suited to the lift car and landing spaces-especially in modernisation projects.
This concept enables the addition of advanced features such as larger or touch displays, high speed communications, video streaming, audio connections, and voice commands, all made possible by the new modular architecture.
With Cosmo, modularity extends to mechanics as well, with a renewed aesthetic and more sustainable materials such as aluminum and glass. Several configurations are available: the COP is divided into pushbutton panel and display; the LOP follows the same principle, allowing the display to be added separately while complying with regulatory height requirements.
The next step will be even more radical: developing fixtures based on composable elements inspired by Lego bricks. Independent modules-assemblable and reconfigurable-will address increasingly diverse technical and functional needs. This approach will involve COP, LOP, and LIP, enabling highly customizable configurations starting from a limited number of standard modules: displays, configurable button groups, and accessories such as logos or audio modules.

Cosmo’s modularity not only simplifies design and installation but also opens the door to a new generation of flexible, scalable, and user oriented pushbutton panels.
In a “Life First” perspective, recyclable materials and solutions that reduce energy consumption will be prioritized. “Life First” guides designers and engineers toward a direction in which the life of every stakeholder – from production to installation, from the end user to recycling – becomes easier.
