Tokyo: 15 Otis lifts for the Toranomon district
Nippon Otis Elevator Company (a Japanese subsidiary of Otis Worldwide Corporation) has been selected to install 15 lifts, including four Gen2® Premier lifts, in Tokyo’s Toranomon-Azabudai project, one of the largest redevelopment projects in Japan.
Gen2 Premier has a lower overall energy consumption than conventional rope lifts. This model uses flat belts instead of traditional steel ropes, eliminating the need for lubrication.

The project, which is scheduled for completion in 2023, has received LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum level pre-certification in the Neighbourhood Development category. It has also received WELL (WELL Building Standard) pre-certification for project features that focus on human health and well-being. Both rating systems are administered by the U.S. Green Building Council.
