Schindler at MIND Milano Innovation District
Schindler signs a lease agreement at MIND Milano Innovation District, for MoLo building
Schindler and Lendlease (a leading international group in urban regeneration real estate projects, responsible for the private development of MIND Milano Innovation District) announce the signing of an agreement for the lease of about 1600sqm of office space in MoLo, the building under construction in the west area of the district, called West Gate. With this agreement Schindler will move the headquarters of Schindler Informatica Milano – a company of the Swiss group – to MIND in the second half of 2026, occupying three of the four office floors of the multifunctional MoLo building.
Schindler Informatica Milano was established in Italy in 2020 with the aim of supporting and promoting the implementation of the Schindler Group’s strategic IT initiatives, as well as the research and development of software solutions for lifts and escalators. The new headquarters at MIND will host over a hundred people.

Schindler is already part of Federated Innovation @MIND, the federation of companies created to innovate and carry out joint research projects and inspired by the principle of “collaborating to compete”, which today brings together around 40 entities.
Conceived as a truly iconic landmark, MoLo is the strategic hub of the western area of the district and is configured as a hinge between the MIND district and the surrounding context. With a total height of 28.50 meters and a length of around 170 meters for a width of 50 meters, the building consists of seven floors above ground and a basement, intended for a mix of technical and commercial functions, both for companies and for the citizens of MIND.
Designed for Lendlease by architect Andrea Nonni, MAD architects, Open Project srl, Progeca srl, the building is conceived as the first access point for cars that need to reach the West Gate and offers approximately 1,500 parking spaces, both public and private, for the various “plots” of the area serving the activities planned in the building and the adjacent Galeazzi Hospital.
Furthermore, MoLo will host a key plant engineering center for the energy strategy of the entire West Gate area, a supermarket area on the ground floor, and rooms for work activities in dedicated spaces in the southern part.
“We are pleased to welcome a company from the Schindler group to MIND, a company that will find a home in one of the most strategic buildings in the neighborhood, becoming an active and integrated part of the innovation ecosystem,” said Fabrizio Zichichi, Executive Project Director of Lendlease. “With Schindler’s entry, the West Gate area is populated by a new dynamic reality alongside ABB Electrification, E.on and Confidi Systema, adding a new piece to the district’s vocation for innovation and sustainability”.
“Schindler’s entry into MIND as a ‘laboratory of the city of the future’ is consistent with our goal of being the reference company in the elevator sector for technology and innovation and continuing to attract the best talent on the market. We are certain that thanks to the presence of Schindler Informatica Milano colleagues in the MoLo spaces, we will have the opportunity to make the most of the synergies of this strategic context for future collaborations and for the development of new sustainable and smart mobility solutions at the service of people in the cities of today and tomorrow” – stated Matteo Napoli, CEO and General Manager of Schindler Italia.
