Raffaella Lione, Civil Engineer, PhD, is a lecturer and researcher in the field of ICAR/10 Technical Architecture (Department of Engineering, Unime).

Her teaching and scientific interests range from the ‘classical’ disciplinary fields (materials and components, construction procedures and systems, building typologies) to the most current ones (design for all, energy sustainability, circular construction, social housing) with reference to both ex-novo construction and building and urban requalification. Author of numerous articles, encyclopaedic entries, monographs, including the volume ‘Elevators and other lifting systems – Technique and design’ (Carocci ed., Rome 1998).

Responsible for and member of research groups, international scientific committees, editorial boards.
