MIMIT White Paper:
ANIE’s comments
The White Paper ‘Made in Italy 2030’, produced by the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy, was presented on 29 January in Rome. The document outlines a long-term industrial vision and represents a strategic reference point for defining a modern national industrial policy that is consistent with European priorities and capable of addressing the challenges of the international context.
ANIE Confindustria, which took part in the consultation process, expresses its appreciation for the systemic approach of the White Paper, recognising the value of a strategy that focuses on advanced manufacturing, technological autonomy and the resilience of value chains.
‘The White Paper represents a sign of vision and institutional responsibility,’ says Vincenzo de Martino, President of ANIE Confindustria. ‘In a historic phase of profound technological, energy and geopolitical transformations, Italy needs a stable industrial policy that is future-oriented and capable of combining competitiveness and economic security. Strengthening Italian technology supply chains must be a strategic priority for our country.’
With an aggregate turnover of more than €100 billion, the electrical engineering and electronics companies represented by ANIE are one of the pillars of Italian and European manufacturing. They operate in key sectors such as the electrification of consumption, energy and digital infrastructure, automation, energy efficiency and cybersecurity, contributing decisively to the major transitions currently underway.

‘ANIE companies offer technologies and solutions that enable Italian industry to be competitive and efficient,’ continues de Martino. ‘The recognition of technological neutrality, the centrality of innovation and human capital as pillars for growth is a very important element contained in the White Paper.’
ANIE Confindustria confirms its commitment to working with MIMIT and national and European institutions to translate this strategic vision into concrete policies: supporting investment, strengthening skills and accompanying companies through industrial transformation processes. The goal: to build a more competitive Italy that plays a leading role in the global industrial landscape.
The ANIE Federation, a member of Confindustria, with 1,100 member companies and approximately 480,000 employees, represents one of the most strategic and advanced industrial sectors in the country, with an aggregate turnover of €112 billion and €27 billion in exports for electrical and electronic technologies in 2024. ANIE member companies invest an average of 4% of their turnover in research and development, accounting for more than 30% of the total R&D investment made by the private sector in Italy.
