Once again this year September is the time for the Lift & Escalator Symposium in Northampton. Now in its 15th year, the ‘Symposium On Lift And Escalator Technologies’ was staged on 18 and 19 September in a new location: the Kettering Park Hotel, in Kettering, a town near Northampton, headquarters of the university that is one of the promoters of the event together with CIBSE and LEIA. Many topics were examined by the experts taking part in this year’s Sympiosium, which were divided into macro-areas:

• IoT & TECHNOLOGY
• SAFETY & MODERNISATION
• TRAFFIC SIMULATION & DISPATCHING
• EVACUATION
• ENGINEERING
