ISEE Expo announces new dates

 In News

Out of an abundance of caution and after consultation with the exhibitors and a section of the visitors, the organisers of “International Sourcing Exposition for Elevators & Escalators” (ISEE) have announced that the show will now take place from December 9th-11th, 2021. The venue remains Hall 1, Bombay Exhibition Centre.

Representatives from some of the organisations and associations involved had the following to state about the decision.

Isee

Suraj Thodimarath, President, Elevator & Escalator Component Manufacturers’ Association of India (EECMAI) said: The impact of Covid 19 across the world has been terrible. The safety of people and minimising the risk of infection while trying to get business to bounce back has been a tricky balance. The health and safety of our industry colleagues always has to be the most important criteria. In this aspect, we feel that the decision to postpone ISEE to December 2021 by the organizers is the right one. It will give a safer environment to visitors and participants as the intervening period will see rapid immunization. While we were all looking forward to the show in May, the postponement will help make the event safer and better allowing for more footfalls at ISEE in December.

Sheila Swett, Executive Director, International Association of Elevator Consultants (IAEC) stated: “We welcome the decision by the organizers of ISEE to move their dates to December. The market conditions are not in favour of a large gathering and the shifting of the dates would allow better planning and heightened visitor footfalls from across the globe.”

V Suresh, Chairman, Forum of Critical Utility Services (FOCUS) commented: It is absolutely fine to move the event to few months ahead when the overall health situation in country would be more conducive for physical meeting as against virtual meeting.

G. Dravid, CTBUH India said: The organisers of ISEE have taken the right precaution in moving their Expo to December. They have shown great responsibility in pushing the show keeping in mind safety which is of utmost importance to all.

Suresh Menon, President, Fire and Safety Association of India (FSAI) commented: It is a very wise decision.

G. Shanker, President, Madras Consultancy Group stated: Over the last one-year, the pandemic has disrupted commerce and work-life, all over the world. While there were high hopes of normalcy returning by late 2020, unfortunately the pandemic has not yet been contained. With vaccines now being available, the situation may turn for the better by the second-half of 2021. Under the circumstances, it makes sense to postpone the much-awaited ISEE to a later date in 2021.

G.R. Phulari, President, Association of Elevator Companies – Maharashtra & All India Lift Upliftment Federation stated: “The best decision as a best judge to protect ourselves and all business associates in our state and country from the corona pandemic situation. Out of an abundance of caution is also the best slogan. The recently conducted zoom meeting was also an excellent effort to create awareness about elevators and escalators safety in our country.”

Arun Agarwal, Secretary, Indian Elevator Engineers Association said: “We are happy with the organizers decision to postpone ISEE to December 2021. This will ensure a much larger domestic and international footfall.”

Ozcan Suleyman, Managing Director, Liftinstituut Solutions said: “The safety and wellbeing of our exhibitors, suppliers and visitors, and indeed the industry as a whole, is of paramount importance, hence we fully support the organizers decision to postpone ISEE.”
