Elevatori Magazine at GEE 2025
Great success for the Round Table
GEE, the vertical transport trade fair, has come to an end: from 19 to 21 November 2025 at Fiera Milano (Rho, Milan), the world of vertical transport gathered in Milan for three days of exhibitions, meetings and training, with a focus on innovation, sustainability and safety.
Now in its second edition, this event, presented within MIBA, the building supply chain, aims to be a point of reference for companies, buyers and operators in a sector that is strategic for urban regeneration, energy efficiency and the modernisation of the building stock. With 8 pavilions, more than 1,250 companies and over 100 events, MIBA aims to represent the entire construction supply chain with four simultaneous events (GEE-Global Elevator Exhibition, Made expo, SBE-Smart Building Expo and SICUREZZA), strengthening the link between related supply chains and creating a single exhibition platform capable of bringing together manufacturers, designers, installers, maintenance technicians, property managers and institutional representatives.
The event had a strong international identity: there were 112 exhibiting companies, 22% of which were foreign and came from 13 countries.
The GEE 2025 ceremony, attended by institutional representatives, industry figures, international guests, and numerous prominent authorities, including: Paola Sarco (CEO of MADE), Laura Bettini (Radio 24 journalist), Lorenzo Bellicini (Director of Cresme), Raffaele Cattaneo (Undersecretary with responsibility for International and European Relations, Lombardy Region), Elena Buscemi (President of the Milan City Council), Matteo Masini (Director of the ICE agency), Fabrizio Capaccioli (President of the Green Building Council Italy), and Paolo Pilotto (Mayor of Monza).
Among the main markets represented were Turkey, Spain, the United States, Austria, and China, confirming that this is an increasingly connected sector on a global scale, capable of continually regenerating itself.
The international dimension was further strengthened by the participation of delegations of selected buyers from 24 countries, including the United States, Egypt, Brazil, South Africa, and Poland.
Elevatori Magazine at GEE
Elevatori Magazine participated in GEE as a media partner. We would like to thank all our readers, friends, and collaborators who came to visit us at our stand (Hall 10 / G52) to meet us in person, exchange opinions, discuss projects and preview issue No. 6/2025 of Elevatori Magazine, together with the volume ‘How it works 7 – Sustainability’.
In addition, the third meeting of the ‘July 10 Round Table’ (‘Tavola Rotonda 10 luglio’®) was held during the fair, bringing together representatives of Italian associations and companies to discuss and explore, once again, the topic of modernisation.
This is a “hot” topic in Italy, but one with strong international implications: from regulatory packages to retrofit technologies, through to the regeneration of existing fleets, safety and energy efficiency.
The Round Table held on November 19 during GEE was a great success. We would like to thank all the speakers and the large audience who participated in this event.
GEE: opportunities for updating, discussion and specialisation
The GEE programme was not limited to the exhibition area, but also included a series of opportunities for updating, discussion and specialisation aimed at professionals, companies and stakeholders in the supply chain. The GEE Talks programme was divided into three strands: “Vision and market trends” to explore new market trends and challenges in the sector; “Innovation and technologies” to take stock of transformation and accessibility processes; and “Regeneration, efficiency and sustainability” with a particular focus on safety, maintenance and staff training. Accredited training modules and certified sessions were planned for technicians, maintenance personnel and designers, in collaboration with professional associations and technical institutes. These round tables discussed the major strategic issues in the sector: from the digitalisation of systems to predictive maintenance, from safety standards to European regulations, from the redevelopment of buildings to the transition to sustainable and accessible models.
Elevatori Magazine, GEE’s media partner, was also involved in the scheduled talks. Maddalena Parotelli, Editor-in-Chief of Elevatori Magazine, moderated three events. In addition to these, GEE also hosted the third meeting of Elevatori Magazine’s Round Table on modernisation.

GEE hosted the third meeting of the ‘July 10 Round Table’ (‘Tavola Rotonda 10 luglio’®), Elevatori Magazine’s permanent working group on modernisation (established on 10 July 2025 at the Politecnico di Milano: read here to find out more).
The Round Table has be held from 11.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and will focus on the theme “Technological innovations for efficient modernisation”.
On this occasion, there were many speakers, coming from the business world (to show the public real examples of what can be done to modernise the existing lift fleet), the academic world (with two professors from the Politecnico di Milano who joined the Technical Committee of Elevatori Magazine after the first meeting of the Round Table), and associations (Anica, Anacam and ANIE AssoAscensori was present for the sector; the UNI Lifts and Escalators Commission was also present with them), to discuss the actions already implemented and those to be developed together, also in order to be able to engage with the government and the world of politics. This round table was sponsored by TKE.

GEE Talk moderated by Elevatori Magazine
20 November, from 2.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. | “Innovative aesthetics and functionality: how design is transforming vertical and horizontal mobility”
On 20 November, from 2.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m., a round table discussion entitled: “Innovative aesthetics and functionality: how design is transforming vertical and horizontal mobility” took place, with experts from the architecture and lift sectors in an open dialogue on the aesthetic and design prospects of the sector.
Chair: Maddalena Parotelli (editor-in-chief of Elevatori Magazine)
Speakers:
Claudia Gobbi, Architect at Studio Salvati and member of the Technical Committee of Elevatori Magazine
Maria Vittoria Capitanucci, Councillor of the Order of Architects, Milan
The first part of the talk focused on one question: how does the elevator fit into the building? In fact, the elevator is not just a machine for overcoming architectural barriers, but an element that interacts with the architecture and can enhance it.
Two architects who approach construction in different ways expressed their views on this topic: Claudia Gobbi shared Studio Salvati’s experience in rethinking spaces to be modernized with a focus on elevators. Maria Vittoria Capitanucci, on the other hand, offered an overview of architecture from the 1900s to the present day, showing concrete examples in which big names in architecture designed their buildings with great attention to vertical transportation within them.
In the second part, the talk showed concrete examples of what companies in our sector do: examples of elevators in prestigious locations such as Milan Cathedral or the Vatican Museums in Rome, right up to new types of elevators to meet new customer requirements and an ever-increasing sensitivity to the issues of design for all and accessibility.
Daniele Pavan, TK Elevator Italia Technical Director and member of the Technical Committee of Elevatori Magazine
Cristiano Gianneschi, TK Home Solution, Managing Director Factory Pisa
Alessandro Roversi, Sales Manager Schindler X8
