Elevatori Magazine’s 50 years in the media: press review

 In News

Elevatori Magazine’s 50 years is making headlines. There are many national and international newspapers that have been talking about the important anniversary that Elevatori Magazine celebrated this year: 50 years of elevator information in Italy and around the world.

The occasion is also a good one to recall the importance of maintenance and modernization of elevator systems, which, especially in Italy, turn out to be dated.

In fact, 40% of the elevators installed in Italy turn out to be obsolete.

And it is also for this reason that Elevatori Magazine has decided to create and promote together with the Aslam Training Institute a post-diploma and professionalizing IFTS course for Elevator Maintenance Technicians, which was launched at the end of November at Aslam’s headquarters and on the occasion of the magazine’s 50th anniversary celebration party.

The one-year course, with a concurrent apprenticeship contract with companies in the sector, is designed to attract new generation talent to the elevator industry and to enable generational change aimed at improving professionalism in the elevator industry.

The press review of the event

The event had a great media echo thanks to Elevatori’s prestige: an Ansa news agency came out; a nice piece was published in the daily newspaper Libero; many sites picked up the news of Elevatori Magazine’s 50th anniversary by reporting the words of the founder and Director, Eng. Giuseppe Volpe, who was also interviewed by Mediaset news.

The article appeared in Libero

On 11/30/2022, the Italian newspaper Libero put an article on the page about Elevatori Magazine’s 50th anniversary titled “40% of elevators are obsolete: course for specialized technicians kicks off,” the eye of which reads, ‘Elevatori Magazine’s initiative. The text of the Tg report on Elevatori Magazine’s 50 years aired on TGCOM 24 and on the TGCOM24 website

Journalist: “After China, Italy is the second largest country in the world in terms of the number of elevators: at least one million systems installed in our apartment buildings, hospitals, office buildings; wherever there are multi-story buildings. Almost 100 million rides are counted in a day. But according to the industry trade magazine, Elevatori Magazine, many of these machines , which save us from the drudgery of stairs, are obsolete and in need of constant maintenance. A magazine that turns 50 years old today and founded by elevator expert Engineer Giuseppe Volpe.”

Eng. Volpe: “Above all, very thorough maintenance is needed. Where there are components that are worn out, or no longer comply with the new standards, they need to be changed.”

Journalist: “A new European regulation is precisely about upgrading the safety of elevators installed before July 1999, and through modern technology would make older systems safer. Elevatori Magazine is also promoting a training course for young people who want to enter the world of vertical transportation.”

Eng. Volpe: “There is support from the Lombardy Region precisely to do courses for these young people who want to learn a new trade.”

Journalist: “A post-diploma course that experts say provides a secure job after one year.”
