Donati S.p.A. acquires International Elevator Commerce
Donati S.p.A., a company specialising in the distribution of components for lifts and escalators, announces the acquisition of International Elevator Commerce SL, a company operating in the Spanish market for the distribution of lift components. This is a strategically significant transaction for Donati, which further consolidates its position as a leading player in Europe and generates positive benefits for all stakeholders involved: customers, employees, suppliers and business partners. Elevator Commerce is forecasting revenue of approximately €22 million and EBITDA in excess of €3 million in its 2026 budget.

This operation represents a further step in an extraordinary transformation: over the last four years, Donati has evolved from a predominantly Italian business, with revenues of €21.9 million, into a pan-European platform with expected aggregate pro forma revenues of over €72 million in the 2026 budget, with a compound annual organic growth rate of 14.6% for the period 2022–2026 – well above the industry average – and 35% when acquisitions are included. Over the same period, the active customer base has more than doubled, from 1,800 to over 3,500; the product portfolio has grown from 10,000 to over 60,000 SKUs; and the geographical footprint has expanded to 14 operational sites across 7 European countries, with shipments to over 80 countries worldwide.
To support this growth, Donati has invested significantly in its operational and technological infrastructure, strengthening its ability to serve an ever-expanding customer base with increasing efficiency, thanks in part to the contribution of its workforce, which has now reached 150 people.
With its direct entry into the Spanish market via Elevator Commerce – following its previous expansion into Germany, France, Belgium and the Netherlands, the latter two achieved through the acquisition of Elvacenter in 2024 – Donati is taking a further step in its strategy to become the leading distribution platform in the European market, by consolidating its position amongst the main operators in each country.
For Donati, this represents a strategic move with significant implications for the entire supply chain: customers will be able to rely on a more extensive distribution network and an even broader product portfolio; employees from both companies will become part of a rapidly growing group, with concrete prospects for professional development; suppliers and business partners will benefit from a logistics and technology platform that is increasingly integrated at European level; the market as a whole is seeing the consolidation of an operator capable of further raising standards of service and reliability in the lifts and escalators sector.
“The acquisition of Elevator Commerce, a very well-positioned operator, represents a crucial step towards the definitive transformation of Donati into a leading platform in Europe, following its previous expansion into Germany, France, Belgium and the Netherlands. This transaction is the natural continuation of a long-term strategy aimed at international growth and the introduction of increasingly sustainable and digital business models. It also marks the merger of two leading companies, operating in perfectly complementary product areas and geographical markets: a corporate project managed by a careful and informed governance structure, into which the Elevator Commerce team will be fully integrated, to the benefit of customers, employees and partners of both organisations,” said Alessandro Cattelan, CEO of Donati.
“I am delighted to join forces with the Donati Group, with whom we have long shared mutual respect and the same vision for growth, and which will be able to capitalise on our combined experience to drive further international expansion. Together, we will build a stronger and more resilient future, ensuring long-term success and value for all stakeholders involved,” concluded Isaac Olivas Prat, Shareholder and Managing Director of Elevator Commerce.
“This transaction confirms the Group’s solid growth prospects and the significant industrial and commercial synergies that can be developed between Donati and Elevator Commerce. All this takes place against a backdrop of considerable financial stability, which enables us to tackle the upcoming development challenges with vision and determination, whilst capitalising on the commitment and cohesion of everyone within the Group,” added Rodolfo Basilico, the Group’s CFO.
“The acquisition of Elevator Commerce represents a major opportunity for the Group: the even broader product portfolio, the sharing of expertise and greater operational efficiency will enable faster response times and an improvement in the service we provide to our customers,” commented Alex Deconynck, Managing Director of Elvacenter and Donati France.
