More than 200 speakers from over 50 countries and more than 1300 people in the audience.
These are the figures of the CTBUH International Conference 2024, which took place in London and Paris from 23 to 27 September.

The event centred on the theme ‘New or Renew: Addressing the Density Dilemma’, chosen by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) with the aim of examining and addressing the impact of increasing urban density, a widespread and multifaceted global problem requiring innovative approaches in architecture, urban planning, public policy and numerous other fields.

But what is the dilemma of density? As the population in cities around the world increases (the United Nations predicts that by 2050 nearly 70% of the world’s population will live in urban areas) there is a growing need to actively address the challenges of accommodating more people without compromising the environment, professional, civic and social engagement, and fair and healthy living.
