ANIE Confindustria: supporting
competitiveness after the PNRR

 In News

On 21 September, the ANIE Federation’s 2026 Public Assembly, entitled ‘What growth after the PNRR?’, was held in Milan. The focus was also on the findings of the ANIE-TEHA study and the survey conducted amongst member companies. How can we ensure continuity in growth and investment once the extraordinary impetus provided by the PNRR has run its course? And what industrial policy choices will be necessary to support the competitiveness of Italian businesses in this new phase? These were the key questions at the heart of the Assembly, which took place from 10.00 am at the Monterosa 91 Auditorium in Milan.

In recent years, the PNRR has been a major catalyst for investment in sectors of strategic importance to the country, from energy to industry, and from the construction sector to infrastructure. This has provided a particularly significant boost to markets enabled by ANIE technologies: according to the ANIE-TEHA study presented during the General Meeting, whilst these sectors account for 22 per cent of the projects funded by the Plan, they absorb 63 per cent of the total value of the resources.

With the gradual completion of the projects linked to the Plan, a new phase is now beginning: transforming the investments of recent years into a structural path to growth, avoiding disruption and creating the conditions to support investment and the competitiveness of the industrial system.

The Assembly opened with an introductory address by Confindustria President Emanuele Orsini, followed by a report from ANIE Federation President Vincenzo de Martino.

During the proceedings, Benedetta Brioschi, a partner at TEHA Group, explored the topic ‘The legacy of the PNRR: impacts and prospects for the ANIE sectors’. The discussion then broadened to the outlook for the national and international economy, with Domenico Siniscalco, President of the Luigi Einaudi Foundation, and Marco Simoni, Director of the Institute of International Affairs, speaking on the topic ‘Growth and new global balances’.

The event continued with closing remarks from Attilio Fontana, President of the Lombardy Region, and Ignazio La Russa, President of the Senate of the Republic.

Nicola Porro, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of *il Giornale*, moderated the meeting.

The Assembly provided an opportunity for industry representatives, institutions and policy experts to discuss the conditions necessary to consolidate the progress made under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and to establish a medium- to long-term outlook for the country’s investment and growth.
