The 16th Lift Symposium
was held in Northampton

The 16 th Symposium on Elevator and Escalator Technology was held on September 24 and 25, 2025, in Kettering, near Northampton (United Kingdom).

Over two intense days, the program covered a wide variety of topics, including IoT and technology, safety and maintenance, engineering challenges, and simulation and traffic management. Among the presentations, a glimpse into the future was provided by Mike Burton, a leader in sustainable and smart building design, in his talk entitled ‘The Future Office’. The second day featured a panel discussion on smart buildings and maintenance.

The ‘Dr. Gina Barney Emerging Excellence Award for Vertical Transportation’ was awarded to Begum Avdagic and Gemma Moore (Product Manager and Account Manager at Dewhurst, respectively) for their article on the potential of digital out-of-home advertising in the elevator industry.
