The 4th edition of the conference “Oltre il Quadrato e la X” will be held at the Iuav University of Venice on March 20, 2020.

LIFTS AND ACCESSIBILITY: THE 2020 EDITION THEME

The topic of this new edition is “vertical mobility for accessibility” and, for the first time, a call for papers has been launched to collect representative researches and case studies. The contributions, that will pass the double blind peer review of the scientific committee of the conference, will be published in a book with ISBN code. In addition, those considered most effective will be invited to present at the conference.

THE PREVIOUS EDITIONS

Since 2013, the research group of Iuav is working to raise awareness among students, architects, designers and experts of the key role that the vertical transportation systems have within the architectural project. Hence the deliberately provocative name of the biennial conferences that have become an important appointment to compare experiences and ideas to go beyond the simple graphic sign – a square with a x at the center – which hides, in reality, a great complexity and that requires a lot of attention.
